Kofukan Karate Christchurch Enjoys a Successful Week at the Karate NZ Camp & NZ Open 2026

Kofukan Karate Christchurch had an incredible four days in Auckland, taking part in the Karate NZ Training Camp followed by the Karate NZ Open 2026.

The training camp provided an excellent opportunity for our athletes to develop their skills, learn from experienced coaches, and prepare for the competition. This was followed by two exciting days of competition at the Karate NZ Open, where our team delivered outstanding performances and proudly brought home:

• 🥇 3 Gold Medals

• 🥈 2 Silver Medals

Beyond the medal success, the trip was a valuable experience for everyone involved. It was an opportunity to challenge ourselves, learn from high-level competition, and continue growing as karateka.

We were also proud to watch Britney Aldridge and Reo Takeuchi represent New Zealand in the Team Kumite event at the Oceania Karate Championship 2026. Seeing two members of our dojo compete on the international stage was an inspiring moment for our club and a testament to their dedication and hard work.

A sincere thank you to Karate New Zealand, the event organisers, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters whose efforts made these events such a success. Your commitment provides invaluable opportunities for athletes across the country to learn, compete, and grow.
